HBO met CBD
Did you watch HBO met CBD (or Sky Atlantic here in the UK) show, Ballers, you’ll know what I’m talking about, HBO met CBD was a great episode all about CBD.
For the uninitiated, Ballers is a hit show from the HBO stable in the US. It’s about a group of NFL players living the high life in Miami, getting into all sorts of trouble. Their manager / financial advisor, played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, tries to keep them in order. It’s a great show, really funny. Watch it, if you haven’t already.
In a recent episode, one of the players, Vernon Littlefield, gets involved in an investment with a CBD company. He starts using the product and is thrilled with how it helps with his football injury.
However, CBD is on the NFL’s banned supplements list, and Vernon is suspended for a number of games.
The characters visit a CBD factory to see for themselves what’s going on. You can’t get high on this stuff. CBD is used for treating epilepsy and cancer, and how it could be a great alternative to legal painkillers which mess with your head and insides.
It will help bust some of the stereotypes of CBD. It’s not something you can get high on, it’s a product with tangible benefits. Furthermore, it also illustrates some of the negative connotations of CBD that we’re most of all working to address. It’s association with psychotropics, the NFL frowns upon THC, but the tide is turning. Therefore we at Green Botanics are hoping more TV programs will be coming to our screens, especially if its specially relevant to CBD.
We hope to CBD feature in more shows like Ballers, educating the public about the benefits of CBD.
